Sour Grapes and Glass Houses Together At Last

When a writer of crappy romance novels criticizes another, more popular writer of crappy romance novels for the crappy sex scenes she writes, it’s a ‘perfect storm’ of sour grapes and glass houses.

Another example is the indie author who complains that other indie authors – who charge less, or nothing, for their books – are driving her out of business. This is like a restaurant making the same charge against a food bank.

Indie authors! Your competition is every book ever written by anybody anywhere whether available online or in bookstores (new or used) or libraries or dumpsters or wherever they may be. Don’t bitch about the competition. Just be good.
